Service 02, Safety

Brake Inspection

Every brake inspection ends with photos sent to your phone, pad measurements, rotor condition, everything we can see. You approve what gets touched, in writing, before we lift a wrench.

Service 03, Repair

Brake Repair

Pads, rotors, calipers, lines, master cylinders, we do all of it. The work is straightforward; what sets us apart is using the right parts for your vehicle and never sending a car back without a test drive.

What we replace

  • Brake pads, ceramic, semi-metallic, or OE depending on vehicle and use
  • Rotors, machined where spec allows, replaced when below minimum thickness
  • Calipers, rebuild kits when feasible, full replacement when not
  • Brake hoses and steel lines
  • Master cylinder and ABS module (when diagnosed as cause)
  • Wheel cylinders on drum-brake vehicles
  • Hardware kits, clips, springs, shims, replaced with every pad job
  • Brake fluid flush included on any full-axle job

Parts tiers

  • Standard, quality aftermarket (Bosch, Wagner, Akebono, NAPA premium)
  • OEM upgrade, dealer parts for vehicles where it matters (luxury, specific noise/feel concerns)
  • Heavy-duty / severe-duty, for tow rigs, fleet, mountain driving

Our process

  • Inspection and quote before any disassembly
  • Pads + rotors per axle: typically 60–90 minutes
  • Caliper replacement: add 30–45 minutes
  • Test drive on every job, short loop with hard-stop verification
  • Pad bedding procedure on vehicles where it matters (performance / heavy-duty)

Service 04, Climate

A/C Service

Apache Junction summers are brutal, your A/C is not optional equipment. We diagnose and repair both R-134a and R-1234yf systems, from a recharge to a full compressor swap.

A/C diagnostic includes

  • Performance test, vent temperature plus suction and discharge pressures
  • Refrigerant recovery and recycling, EPA Section 609 compliant
  • Full evacuation and recharge to manufacturer spec by weight
  • UV dye injection and leak detection on suspect systems
  • Cabin air filter inspection (replacement quoted separately)
  • Compressor clutch and cycling verification
  • Drive belt and tensioner inspection

Common repairs we handle

  • Compressor and clutch replacement
  • Condenser replacement (often punctured by road debris on East Valley highways)
  • Expansion valve or orifice tube
  • Receiver/drier or accumulator
  • Refrigerant lines, o-rings, and seals
  • Blower motor and resistor
  • Cabin air filter replacement
  • HVAC actuator and blend door issues

Refrigerants we service

  • R-134a, most vehicles before model year 2017
  • R-1234yf, most 2017+ vehicles, properly equipped and certified

Service 05, Anything else

General Repair

Anything that isn't a brake job or an oil change. Engine, electrical, cooling, fuel, drivetrain , we diagnose first, replace parts second. We don't believe in "throw parts at it and see what sticks."

Systems we service

  • Engine, timing belts and chains, water pumps, valve cover gaskets, oil leak diagnosis, head gasket evaluation
  • Cooling, radiators, thermostats, hoses, water pumps, fan clutches, electric cooling fans
  • Electrical, alternators, starters, batteries, wiring, sensors, lighting, parasitic draw
  • Fuel, fuel pumps and filters, injector cleaning, EVAP and purge solenoids
  • Belts & hoses, serpentine, accessory, vacuum, coolant
  • Drivetrain, CV axles, U-joints, driveshafts, motor and transmission mounts
  • Exhaust, mufflers, pipes, catalytic converters (CARB-compliant where required)

Diagnostic capability

  • OBD-II scan with bidirectional control (manufacturer-specific tools, not just a code reader)
  • Live data and freeze-frame analysis
  • Smoke testing for vacuum and EVAP leaks
  • Compression and leak-down on suspect cylinders
  • Bench electrical testing, alternator, starter, battery load
  • Fuel pressure and volume testing

Our diagnostic policy

One-hour diagnostic flat fee. If you proceed with the repair we identify, that fee is applied toward the repair. We don't replace parts to "see if that fixes it", that's how repair bills get out of hand. We find the root cause first, then we fix it.

Service 06, Diagnostics

ABS Diagnostics

When the ABS light comes on, a code reader will give you a number. We give you the actual cause , and that's not always the part the code points at. ABS faults are notoriously easy to misdiagnose; we've seen "replace ABS module" quotes that turned out to be a $40 wheel speed sensor.

What we check

  • ABS module fault codes, manufacturer-specific plus generic OBD-II
  • Wheel speed sensors, live data while driving, tone ring visual inspection
  • Hydraulic control module, pressure tests on each circuit
  • Wiring harness for corrosion, chafing, broken pins
  • Brake fluid condition (contaminated fluid damages HCU internals)
  • Communication between ABS, engine, and instrument cluster modules

Common root causes we find

  • Failed wheel speed sensor, debris on tone ring, broken harness, magnetized iron filings
  • Damaged tone ring on the CV axle, common on high-mileage vehicles
  • Corroded HCU connectors from water intrusion
  • Stuck inlet or outlet valves in the hydraulic control unit
  • Failed ABS module, rare, but real (we won't condemn one without proving it)

Our process

We scan with the right tool for your vehicle, we maintain manufacturer-level subscriptions for the most common Apache Junction vehicles (GM, Ford, RAM, Toyota, Honda). For intermittent codes, we road-test with the scanner live and recreate the condition. Quote comes after we know the cause, not before.

Suspension Safety Checks

Worn suspension doesn't just feel bad, it ruins tires, lengthens stopping distance, and turns emergency maneuvers into accidents. Out here on washboard roads and 115° pavement, rubber components wear faster than the textbook says. We catch it before it bites.

What we check on the lift

  • Shocks and struts, leak inspection, bounce test, body and stem condition
  • Coil and leaf springs, sag measurement, cracks, broken coils
  • Ball joints, under load and unloaded play measurement
  • Tie rod ends, inner and outer, with grease boot inspection
  • Sway bar links and bushings, heat-cracking is endemic here
  • Control arm bushings
  • Wheel bearings, heat and play check
  • Steering rack boots, idler arms, pitman arms (truck/SUV)

What we see most often in the East Valley

  • Sun-rotted bushings, rubber breaks down fast under desert UV
  • Heat-cracked sway bar links from cycling between 30°F nights and 115°F days
  • Tie rod ends loosened by washboard dirt roads (Gold Canyon, AJ outskirts)
  • Premature wheel bearing failure on lifted trucks

Why it matters

Bad suspension wears your tires in patches, a $1,200 set of tires gone in 20,000 miles instead of 50,000. It also lengthens your stopping distance and degrades stability when you need to swerve. This is the cheapest insurance you can buy for the rest of your vehicle.

Service 08, Safety

Brake Fluid Service

The most overlooked safety service on your vehicle. Brake fluid absorbs water from the air the minute it's in your system. That water boils under hard braking, your pedal goes soft, and your stopping distance doubles. Two years is the limit, period.

Common questions

Stuff people ask.

Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?

Appointments get priority and a guaranteed bay. Walk-ins are welcome when we have capacity , give us a call first if you want to know the day's wait. Drop-offs work great too; just bring the keys.

How do I get a quote before I bring the car in?

Call us at 480-232-7484 with your year, make, model, and a description of the issue. For straightforward jobs (brakes, oil, A/C recharge) we can quote on the phone. For diagnostics-required repairs (check engine light, electrical), we'll need to see the vehicle first, the diagnostic fee is credited toward the repair if you proceed.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash, debit, all major credit cards, and check (with valid ID). For fleet accounts on Net-15 terms, we invoice monthly. We don't currently offer financing in-house, ask about Sunbit or NAPA EasyPay if you need a payment plan.

How long does a typical repair take?

Most maintenance and brake jobs are same-day. Diagnostics are 1–2 hours. Engine work, transmission jobs, and AC compressor replacements may take longer; we'll give you a timeline upfront and update you if anything changes.

Do you warranty your work?

Yes, 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first, on parts and labor. If something we did fails inside that window, we make it right at no charge.

What if I decline some of the recommended repairs?

That's your call. We'll mark anything safety-critical clearly and document anything you declined so it's on your record for next time. No pressure, we'd rather have a customer for life than push one big job.

Do you work on every make and model?

We service all major domestic and Asian brands and most European. For specific high-end European (BMW, Mercedes, Audi) or specialty work (exotics, racing prep), call first so we can confirm whether we're the right shop. We won't take a job we can't do right.

Can I bring my own parts?

Generally we install only parts we source, that way the parts warranty actually means something. Exceptions exist for owner-supplied OEM upgrades, but we can't warranty parts we didn't sell you. Ask us before bringing parts.
