Abe's Automotive Repair ("we," "us," "our") operates the website at www.abesautorepair.com and a vehicle repair business at 4793 S Desert View Dr, Apache Junction, AZ 85120. This policy explains what information we collect from you, how we use it, and what choices you have. We wrote it in plain language because legal documents shouldn't be a wall of jargon.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us directly
- Booking form (Setmore): when you book online, our scheduling provider Setmore collects your name, phone number, vehicle year/make/model, and a description of the issue to manage your appointment, under its privacy policy.
- Email or phone: any messages you send to admin@abesautorepair.com or call to 480-232-7484.
- In-shop service records: vehicle information, services performed, payment method, billing address (if invoiced).
Information collected automatically
- localStorage: we store your language preference (
aa_lang), the dismissal time for our promotional popup (aa_deal_dismissed_until), and your cookie-consent choices (ggs_consent_v1) on your device. See our Cookie Policy for details. - Server logs: our hosting provider records standard web logs (IP address, user agent, referring URL, timestamps). These are used for security and troubleshooting only.
- Advertising and conversion tracking: with your consent, we use Google Ads conversion tracking (Google Ads ID
AW-18182688320) to measure which ads lead to bookings and calls. It is off by default and loads only after you accept advertising cookies on our banner. It sets Google Ads cookies (_gcl_au,_gcl_aw) and we store ad-click identifiers (gclid,utm_*) for up to 30 days. Opt out via the banner, the footer Cookie Preferences link, Global Privacy Control, or Google Ad Settings. - General analytics: we do not currently run Google Analytics or a similar site-analytics tool. If we add one, we will update this policy and gate it behind the consent banner first.
2. How we use your information
- To respond to your booking request or message.
- To schedule, perform, and invoice for vehicle repair work.
- To follow up on completed work and warranty matters.
- To remember your preferences (language) when you return.
- To comply with tax, accounting, and consumer protection law.
We do not sell or rent your personal information for money. We do use Google Ads conversion tracking which, with your consent, shares limited advertising identifiers with Google; under California law this may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out at any time (see Section 5).
3. Who we share information with
- Service providers: our web host (Hostinger), email provider, and payment processor when you pay by card. They process data on our behalf and only for the purpose we hire them for.
- Scheduling (Setmore): our online booking is provided by Setmore, which collects and stores the booking details you enter to manage your appointment. See Setmore's Privacy Policy.
- Advertising (Google): with your consent, Google Ads conversion tracking shares ad-click and conversion events (tied to cookie or device identifiers) with Google LLC to measure ad performance. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Parts suppliers: we may share your vehicle VIN or part numbers with NAPA, AutoZone, or OEM dealers to order the right parts.
- Legal requirements: when required by valid subpoena, court order, or applicable law.
- Business transfer: if the shop is ever sold, customer records may transfer to the buyer with this same policy applying.
4. How long we keep your information
- Booking inquiries that don't become customers: 12 months.
- Customer service records: 7 years (Arizona tax and warranty law).
- Email correspondence: 3 years unless deleted on request.
- Website logs: 90 days.
5. Your rights and choices
Everyone
- Access: ask us what we have about you, free of charge once per year.
- Correction: ask us to fix any inaccuracy.
- Deletion: ask us to delete your records, except where law requires us to keep them (e.g. tax records).
- Opt out of communications: reply STOP to texts or tell us in writing.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to access and delete it, to correct inaccuracies, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. We do use Google Ads conversion tracking, which may be considered "sharing" under California law. To opt out, use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in our footer, reject advertising in the cookie banner, or enable Global Privacy Control in your browser; you may also contact us at admin@abesautorepair.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Children
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
6. Security
We use HTTPS for our website, store digital records on access-controlled systems, and shred paper records when no longer needed. No method of transmission is 100% secure; if you have reason to believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, contact us immediately.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will change. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for 30 days.
