What you get
Anybody can drain a pan. What you are really buying is twenty minutes of a mechanic's attention while the car is already up in the air. That is when problems get caught early enough to still be cheap.
Conventional, synthetic blend, or full synthetic, to the grade and capacity your engine actually calls for. The filter gets replaced every service, not topped around. We reset the maintenance light before you leave.
Through October 1, your oil change unlocks a full pad and rotor workup plus a load test on the battery, alternator, and starter. The two things most likely to strand you, measured while the car is already on the lift.
Coolant, transmission, brake and power steering fluid levels and condition. Belts and hoses checked for the cracking that Arizona heat causes early. Tire tread depth and pressure, including the spare if you want it.
Nobody here is paid on ticket size, so nothing gets added to your bill that you did not approve. If we find something, you get a photo and a written price, and you decide whether it happens today, later, or not at all.
30k, 60k, 90k services done to what the manufacturer actually specifies for your car, not a padded package. If an item on the list does not apply to your vehicle, we take it off and say why.
Every visit is written down with the mileage and what was done, so you have a real service history for warranty claims and for resale. It also means next time we already know what we looked at.
Why not the quick lube
The drive-through chains are built to move cars through a bay on a clock, and the person under your hood is usually paid to add items, not to diagnose anything. That is a fine business model. It is just not a mechanic looking at your car, and the difference shows up two years later.

Arizona intervals are not national intervals
Most owner's manuals quote an interval built around a national average that does not include a 115 degree afternoon or the fine dust we get out here. Sustained heat thins oil and accelerates oxidation, and dust loads the air and oil filters faster. Short trips around town make it worse, because the engine never fully heats up and moisture does not cook off.
That does not mean you need an oil change every 3,000 miles. It means the honest interval depends on your oil, your engine, and how you actually drive. We will tell you what yours is and write it down, even when the answer is that you can go longer than you thought.

It depends on your oil and how you drive, and the honest answer is usually somewhere between the 3,000 miles the quick lubes want and the 10,000 the manual quotes. Sustained heat and fine dust shorten the interval here, and short trips around town shorten it further. Tell us how you actually use the car and we will give you a real number and write it down.
If your engine specifies it, yes, and using conventional can affect a warranty claim. If it does not, synthetic still holds up better in Arizona heat but it is a judgement call rather than a requirement. We will tell you which situation your car is in instead of defaulting you to the most expensive option.
Pad thickness measured in millimeters at every wheel, rotors measured with a micrometer, calipers and hoses inspected, brake fluid moisture tested, plus a load test on the battery, alternator, and starter with a terminal and cable inspection. It comes free with any paid service through October 1 and it is an inspection only, so nothing is done to the car without your approval.
No. Federal law means a manufacturer cannot require you to service the car at a dealer to keep the warranty, as long as the work is done to specification and documented. We use the correct oil grade and filter and we write down the date, mileage, and what was done, which is exactly what a warranty claim needs.
No. Abe's does not perform Arizona state emissions testing. We can diagnose and repair whatever caused a failed test, which is a different job and one we do regularly.
